  1.  QI/WP/WT Cutoff Date For Accepting Applications

Applications for Qualified Intermediary (QI), Withholding Foreign Partnership (WP) and Withholding Foreign Trust (WT) status will be processed throughout the calendar year 2015.  QI status will be effective the later of the assignment of the GIIN or QI EIN as per Revenue Procedure 2014-39.  Applicants are encouraged to obtain a GIIN prior to submitting their application if it is required.  Applicants who will need QI status for the remaining short period of 2015 must ensure that their application is received by the Financial Intermediary Team by December 18th, 2015 in order to allow sufficient time for processing by year end.
