An updated version of the AIR Automated Enrollment for ACA Providers Externals Guide is available on IRS.gov on the Affordable Care Act Information Returns (AIR) Program page. This guide should be used by authorized contacts that must use Automated Enrollment to enroll and maintain their application to application (A2A) Client Application Systems (ASIDs). The A2A communication channel uses the ASID and the user’s X509 certificate to authenticate and authorize access to the A2A services. Users that transmit through the User Interface (UI) channel do not need to perform these steps.
