Announcing Katherine Maas as Deputy Director of Museum Services
Effective immediately, IMLS Chief of Staff, Katherine Maas, has accepted the role of Deputy Director of Museum Services.
The Deputy Director of Museum Services is a cornerstone position for IMLS, guiding our museum programs, overseeing key grantmaking activities, and ensuring we deliver on our mission to support and strengthen museums nationwide. Katherine’s leadership, experience, and deep understanding of IMLS make her the perfect choice to keep things moving forward seamlessly.
In addition to her field museum experience, Katherine has worked for IMLS since 2010, starting as Staff Assistant in the Office of Museum Services, then from 2016, she worked in the Office of the Director, serving as Chief of Staff for the past 4 years. This experience demonstrates that she truly understands the operations and importance of the Agency’s role with America 250, Workforce Development, Information Literacy and AI Education, and local Economic Development.
