 Multifamily Housing Programs Publishes Annual Revisions to Base City High-Cost Percentage and High-Cost Areas Housing Notice and Mortgagee Letter
The Office of Multifamily Housing Programs (MFH) published an update to its annual revisions to Base City High-Cost Percentage and High-Cost Areas. MFH is also revising the annual indexing of the Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) Guide’s Substantial Rehabilitation and Large Loan Risk Mitigation Thresholds. The updates adjust the Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) maximum multifamily mortgage insurance loan limits and risk mitigation thresholds, and the base cost for substantial rehabilitation per unit.
These actions align with regional economic conditions and construction costs, helping facilitate the development and rehabilitation of multifamily housing in high-cost regions. For additional details, review the Housing Notice and Mortgagee Letter which were effective on January 1, 2025.
