HUD Publishes 30-Day Notification Requirement Prior to Termination of Lease for Nonpayment of Rent Final Rule
Today, the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development published a 30-Day Notification Requirement Prior to Termination of Lease for Nonpayment of Rent in the Federal Register. This final rule requires that public housing agencies and owners of properties receiving project-based rental assistancemust provide written notification to tenants facing eviction for nonpayment of rent30 days prior to filinga formal judicial eviction procedure. The final rule becomes effective 30 days after publication.
