HUD Publishes Federal Register Notice on the Methodology for Annual Inflationary Adjustments to Income Calculations in HUD Subsidized Housing Programs
Today, the Office of Multifamily Housing, Public and Indian Housing, and Community Planning and Development published a joint Federal Register notice on the Methodology for Annual Inflationary Adjustments to Income Calculations in HUD Subsidized Housing Programs. The purpose of this notice is to solicit comment on HUD's proposed methodology for deriving an Inflationary Factor from the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W). This factor will be used to adjust certain values pursuant to a requirement established in the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act of 2016 (HOTMA) which mandates that such values be adjusted annually by inflation. The deadline for public comment is May 17th, 2024.
