Multifamily owners/property managers are invited to view HUD and Treasury's Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program webinar today at 2 p.m. ET via webcast. Treasury’s Emergency Rental Assistance program makes funding available to assist households that are unable to pay rent or utilities.
ERA1 provides up to $25 billion under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, and ERA2 provides up to $21.55 billion under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Grantees, which include states, U.S. territories, and local governments, use the funds to provide assistance to eligible households through existing or newly created rental assistance programs. Treasury is continuing an all-out effort, in coordination with the White House and interagency partners, to get the word out about the availability of rental assistance and to support grantees in ramping up their efforts.
The webinar’s goal is for tenants and landlords to take advantage of the historic funding available to help cover rent, utilities, and other housing costs and to keep people in their homes.
Thursday, September 23, 2-3 p.m. ET
Scheduled speakers include:
Lopa Kolluri, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Housing
Noel Andrés Poyo, U.S. Department of Treasury Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office for Community Economic Development
The webinar will feature case studies of ERA grantees, community-based partners, and multifamily housing partners that have developed strong partnerships to more effectively and efficiently provide rental support to tenants.
