Ensuring Access to Equitable, Affordable, Client-Centered, Quality Family Planning Services
I am pleased to share that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a final rule today to strengthen the Title X family planning program, fulfilling President Biden’s reproductive health commitment to restore access to equitable, affordable, client-centered, quality family planning services. The final rule, “Ensuring Access to Equitable, Affordable, Client-Centered, Quality Family Planning Services” is the culmination of a months-long effort to realign the nation’s family planning program with nationally recognized standards of care, reinforce the program’s emphasis on quality, equity, and dignity for all individuals who seek Title X services, and modernize the more than 50-year old program to better reflect the current healthcare system. The attached summary outlines the essential provisions within the 2021 rule. Please visit the OPA website for more information. Thank you for all that you do to support public health.
