DEADLINE EXTENDED: New NAP EHBs Deadline is Wednesday, October 2

Deadline Extended

We extended the deadline for fiscal year (FY) New Access Points (NAP) applications in HRSA's Electronic Handbooks (EHBs) to 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 2. We made this extension in response to system issues impacting some applicants trying to complete Form 5B: Service Sites. We fixed these issues yesterday.

Remember, the Authorizing Official (AO) must submit your application to HRSA. When you complete your application and select “Submit to AO,” be sure to have the AO log into EHBs and select “Submit to HRSA” before the deadline. Watch our new EHBs Application Submission Tutorial video for details.

Visit the NAP technical assistance (TA) webpage for application resources and to get to our FAQ page (also in Spanish). Submit other questions via the BPHC Contact Form.

FRIDAY: Ordering Deadline for JYNNEOS Vaccines from ASPR

Important

As mpox is a growing health concern, we have several related updates. We recently announced that the HHS Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) has JYNNEOS vaccine available for HRSA-supported health centers. ASPR established a deadline for orders: 2:00 p.m. ET THIS Friday (September 27). See our September 6 bulletin for how to order, including what information you need to include.

This deadline will ensure doses are delivered with sufficient time for you to administer the first dose by Thursday, October 3. Recipients who receive their first dose that day (October 3) should receive their second dose on the last day the vaccine will be good (Thursday, October 31). This aligns with the manufacturer’s recommendation of administering doses 28 days apart.

Compliance Tip: Collaborative Relationships

Health Center Program Compliance Tip

Provide documentation to meet the program requirement for Element c of Collaborative Relationships. If expanding your HRSA-approved scope of project, you must:

  • Obtain letters or other appropriate documents that describe areas of coordination or collaboration with health care providers serving similar patient populations in the service area (health centers, rural health clinics, local hospitals including critical access hospitals, health departments, other providers including specialty providers, as applicable); or
  • Document attempts to coordinate or collaborate with these health care providers on the specific request or application proposal if such letters or documents cannot be obtained.

Reminder: To demonstrate compliance, the letters of support or other documentation must reference the change in scope request or application. See chapter 14 of the Compliance Manual for more.
