Compliance Tip: Budget
Be sure to provide appropriate documentation to meet the Service Area Competition/Renewal of Designation (SAC/RD) review criteria for Element (a) of Annual Budgeting for Scope of Project. You must demonstrate that:
- Budget reflects revenue and expenses for all sites, services, and activities within the scope of project.
- Budget documentation includes the Budget Narrative, Form 3, and Form SF424-A/Form 3A.
- The Budget narrative includes the projected budget for Years 1, 2, 3 and the Federal Personnel Justification Table.
- Award funds are NOT allotted to pay salaries at a rate above Executive Level II.

A report (PDF) from the HHS National Syphilis and Congenital Syphilis Syndemic Federal Task Force explores differences between point of care (POC) tests and laboratory-based serologic tests. Provider Relief Fund Reporting Period 7
The Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Reporting Portal is open through Monday, September 30. Providers who received one or more PRF (General or Targeted) and/or American Rescue Plan Rural payments exceeding $10,000, in the aggregate, from January 1 to June 30, 2023, must report on their use of funds during Reporting Period 7 to comply with PRF Reporting Requirements (PDF). Online Health and Safety for Children and Youth: Best Practices for Families and Guidance for Industry
The Biden-Harris Administration’s Kids Online Health and Safety Task Force released a report with recommendations and best practices for safer social media and online platform use for youth. The recommendations underscore the Administration’s efforts to address the ongoing youth mental health crisis and support the President’s Unity Agenda for the nation. National Immunization Awareness Month
August is National Immunization Awareness Month, a time to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. Trusted health care providers can help raise awareness and talk with patients about staying up to date on their vaccinations. CDC’s website offers tools and resources:
- Education and training for health care professionals and strategies for talking with parents and patients.
- A way for you to easily add immunization schedules to your website.
- Promotional materials (in English and Spanish) to make it easy for you to reach your community.
