Telehealth and the End of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency
Information about the latest policy changes
The federal COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) ended on May 11, but many Medicare telehealth flexibilities remain in place temporarily. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a Fact Sheet to provide clarity around federal telehealth flexibilities including health care coverage, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules, telebehavioral health, and broadband access. Additional guidance on updates and timing relating to the continuation of these flexibilities will be forthcoming. Learn more about telehealth policy changes with the end of the COVID-19 PHE.
