Updated Service Area Status Scores Now Available
Visit HRSA’s website for updated Service Area Status (SAS) scores based on 2021 UDS patient data. The SAS score describes the health, social, and economic status of a health center's existing service area using a standardized methodology and public data sources. Obtain SAS scores for HRSA-funded health centers and look-alikes through the SAS Workbook. The ZIP code-configurable workbook allows those outside the Health Center Program to obtain SAS scores for ZIP codes within a proposed service area.

Optimizing Virtual Care Briefs for Health Centers
HRSA announces the first of a four-part series of briefs developed through the Optimizing Virtual Care (OVC) award. See them on the OVC webpage.
OVC awardees develop, implement, and evaluate innovative strategies to optimize the use of virtual care to increase access and improve clinical quality for underserved communities. The briefs capture actionable tips from the awardees' first six months including:
- Lessons learned on staffing and patient engagement and on selecting technology and tools.
- Insights from patient use of real-time telehealth.
We also added a new Build Your Own Journey Map to the webpage. It can help health centers identify ways to support virtual care equity for specific patient populations. This, and the other OVC Journey Maps we first shared in March, appear in the section below the briefs.
