 BPHC 2022 Year in Review

Funding and Oversight
- Awarded over $5.3 billion in fiscal year 2022 funding to support health centers in providing services to over 30 million people in the U.S.
- Completed 354 virtual Operational Site Visits and over 1,300 Program Analysis and Recommendation (PAR) reviews.
- Reviewed 11.5K progress reports for 18 supplemental awards.

COVID-19
- Expanded HRSA’s COVID-19 Testing Supply Program and launched programs for direct ordering of therapeutics and masks, in addition to continuing the vaccine program. Health centers ordered:

15+ million point-of-care testing supplies

~15 million at-home self-test kits for distribution

~4 million vaccine doses

118,000+ courses of therapeutics

Customer Service
- Handled 20.7K+ Salesforce tickets, reducing average time to close tickets by 67%.
- Responded to 467 Policy Portal requests to help internal and external stakeholders understand compliance issues.
- Handled 7.1K+ Health Center Program Support requests.
- Launched a Customer Experience (CX) program that will shape our future work.

Communications
- Gave 112 conference presentations, with 70+ slide decks cleared through Speakers Bureau, and 30+ White House briefings.
- Launched the new BPHC website, migrating or creating 1,300 webpages, deleting or removing 1,000 files, and enlisting 31 user research participants.
- Authored 90+ health center stories, with ~30 posted on the new Health Center Stories webpage.
- Produced the “Heart of a Health Center” video; it profiles 5 health centers and has received 5,000+ views.

People
- Onboarded 77 new staff.

57 staff reached milestone federal service anniversaries.

214 BPHC employees received HRSA Honor or Commissioned Corps Awards.
- Implemented 22 internal trainings, which 403 employees attended.

Newsletter Deadline Change Next Week
Due to the Martin Luther King, Jr., Birthday holiday, the newsletter deadline is changed next week. Instead of noon on Friday, newsletter announcements must be approved in SharePoint by COB Thursday, January 12. We’ll hold submissions received after that deadline for the following issue.

Call for Nominations: FY 2022 HHS Green Champion Awards
HHS is looking for its Green Champions! Do you or someone you work with go above and beyond to preserve the environment and reduce the impact of climate change? CFC: Take the High Five Challenge!
The 2022 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) ends next week on Saturday, January 14! You can make a one-time or recurring tax-deductible donation. Register and donate at OPM's CFC site using BPHC donation number 6J8H1Q.
As of this week, HRSA has surpassed its $200,000 goal, with nearly $206,000 collected. BPHC currently ranks #1 in donations with $33,888 pledged!
Keep those pledges coming and help end the season strong by joining the federal community in the #High5Challenge. Participate by one or more of the following:
- Donating $5 or more per pay period.
- Increasing a current pledged gift by 5%.
- Pledging 5 volunteer hours (see instructions).
Go to the HRSA's CFC SharePoint site for information on ways to donate, charities, and Zoom links to upcoming events, including an MCHB vs. IEA Jeopardy event from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, January 10 (in Room 5A-02 and via Zoom), and a Wellness and Charity Fair from noon-1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, January 12 (in the Atrium and via Zoom)!  Fitness Center Updates
Start the new year out right and plan to exercise at the 5600 Fishers Lane Fitness Center, which is open 24/7. A low-impact, high-cardio power cycle class is offered every Wednesday at noon. For virtual group exercise classes, see the January schedule (PDF). See the January 2023 Fitness Center newsletter (PDF) for healthy ways to start the new year and a healthy recipe for 3-can chili.

Training & Staff Development
 Extended: Records Management Training Due Friday, January 13
If you have not yet completed the records management training, complete it no later than Friday, January 13. This mandatory course for all HHS employees and contractors highlights your responsibilities for records management, helps you tell the difference between records and non-records, and assists you in learning how to manage the federal records lifecycle. Log in to the Learning Management System to register and access the course.
The Financial Disclosure Edition: OGE 450
Join HRSA Ethics to discuss the upcoming Office of Government Ethics (OGE) 450 filing season. Learn tips to make your filing easier. How to report your assets, liabilities, outside activities, and agreement(s) that are reportable on your form.

 PMAP for Employees: Investing in Your Performance
The Performance Management Appraisal Program (PMAP) is designed to assist employees in achieving organizational and individual performance goals. In January, PMAPs for the new year are established and reviews of the previous year often take place. The process provides elements and sets standards for employee job performance. In this workshop, you will learn about the PMAP process, as well as skills to help you effectively communicate with your supervisors about performance expectations and results.
