Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) are designations that indicate
health care provider shortages in primary care, dental health or mental health.
With the upcoming national Auto-HPSA score
update approaching in 2019, HRSA presents a webinar—an opportunity for health
center staff to learn more about the HPSA designation modernization project.

HCV Current: Resources for Medical and Behavioral Health
Professionals
Updated in 2017, HCV Current is a national Addiction
Technology Transfer Center initiative, funded by SAMHSA, that provides HCV
resources for medical and behavioral health professionals at health centers,
including:
- Online, self-paced course with continuing
education credits;
- Downloadable provider reference tools and brief
motivational interviewing videos; and
- Region-specific resources.

CDC’s
Be #HepAware Thunderclap!
To
further raise awareness and promote hepatitis testing during May, please
consider participating in the Be #HepAware Thunderclap on Saturday, May 19.
Thunderclap is
a tool that allows supporters to sign up in advance and share a unified message
simultaneously across social media platforms to create a wave or “thunderclap.”
CDC needs 100 supporters for the Thunderclap to take effect, so please sign up!

STAR² Center Spring Regional Workforce
Trainings
The Association of Clinicians for
the Underserved is a HRSA-funded NCA. Their STAR² Center invites workforce staff
from all health centers and Primary Care Associations (PCAs) in Regions 1, 2 &
3, 6, and 10 to participate in full-day trainings on relevant recruitment and

Care Delivery Models for Primary Care Integration of Viral Hepatitis and
Substance Use Disorder Treatment Webinar
According to CDC, 3.5 million people in the
United States had chronic hepatitis C in 2016. During the same period, the Uniform
Data System reveals that 206,587 health center patients received a hepatitis C
diagnosis.
This HRSA-hosted webinar will
feature primary care integration health center models for hepatitis B and
hepatitis C services. Join to learn effective workflows for hepatitis B
screening and management and how nurse care managers can drive patient care for
hepatitis C and substance use disorder treatment.

Awardee Settings, Part 1: Addressing Opioids in Integrated Care
The SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions (CIHS) is hosting a
webinar featuring subject matter experts in substance use disorder from Case
Western University and Coal Country Community Health Center. This webinar will
cover a variety of relevant topics, including: the development of opioid use
disorder screening and assessment protocols, motivational interviewing
techniques, implementing medication assisted treatment (MAT) services, and
workforce training and retention.
