Wellness Month is coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! Here’s how to keep the party going:
- Visit the Wellness Month page on the OCFO Google Site to relive the magic.
- Fill out the feedback form and let the team know what you loved (and what could be better next year).
- Add Mindful GSA meditation and yoga sessions to your calendar, and sign up via Online University to attend.
- Check out LaTanya Benson’s cooking demos — a delicious stir fry and a fun pineapple mango salsa.
- Add your healthy entrees, sides, snacks, and beverages to the OCFO Recipe Book.
-
Join the team! We’re always looking for more great ideas and helping hands.
The final Wellness Month Poll asked “Why do you or don't you own a pet?” Top reasons for owning pets included companionship, relieving stress, and giving a pet a much-needed home. Reasons for not having pets included allergies, not having enough time, and not wanting to be tied down.
Thanks for participating in all of this month’s events, including our polls! And thanks so much to the team who pulled this year’s activities together: Kristin Williamson, Vickie Lay, Pam Murray, LaTanya Benson, April Lee, Genevieve Gilinger, Tavoris Vaughn, Daniel Humble, and Jenette Troberg.
Be well (and see you next year)!

Did You Know That Your Colleagues Don't Have to Miss Out on OCFO Info?!
Know someone who doesn't receive OCFO's newsletters, messages, or calendar invites? They could be missing from the office's mailing lists.
To have someone added, send an email with a brief explanation of what info they're missing out on and their name to ocfo@gsa.gov and the front office will make sure they're included.
New! Labor Day Leave Guidance
Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024, is a federal holiday for pay and leave purposes.
To record holiday time off, use the Time Reporting Code "002-Holiday Observed.” Do not place any information into the “Additional TRC,” “Labor Code,” or “Task Code” fields on the timesheet.
If you have any questions, please contact your local timekeeper. You can also contact the Timekeeping Help-Desk.

Sending a SHOUT OUT to the OCFO Engagement Team. They have done an amazing job providing the OCFO workforce with some super fun, ADULT RECESS, that fosters belonging, inclusivity by delivering workforce centric engagement opportunities that really create an amazing employee experience.
I most recently attended the PAWS and CLAWS bring your pet to work event. It was so well done! They collected information on our pets such as breed, name, something fun about the pet, and how we acquired them. Each participant was able to showcase their pet and share their story. Pets highlighted included dogs, cats, chickens, Komodo dragons, and more. Me and the pupsters enjoyed it so much.
So again, BIG UPS to the Engagement Team and THANK YOU!!!

Shout out to Derek Blanchard (BGF)!
Shout out to Derek for recognizing that a manual process could be optimized through an automation! He spearheaded the replacement of the manual effort to write and send individual follow up emails for outstanding FEDSIM refunds with a Google Script that automatically composes and sends the messages out in seconds. Great job and keep the ideas flowing!

Don't Forget! The Career Planning and Training Tool is Here to Help
The CFO Council's (CFOC) Career Planning and Training Tool has recently undergone a revision to its functionality to make it easier to identify courses that align with the CFOC’s core competencies for the financial management job series (501, 510, 511 and 565). You can start using the tool by clicking on the job series and GS-level filters. Career guidance in the form of virtual cards will display in the center of the screen and below.
Each virtual card will include information about a competency, including a general description, relevant behaviors, and proficiency levels. The cards will also contain embedded links to vendor courses that will help you master aspects of each competency. The partner vendors offer a wide array of course types and learning modalities, including on-line, on-site, hybrid, micro-learning, cohort style, and many more. These courses are available for purchase via government purchase card (note - purchases on government purchase cards are limited to $10,000; most courses are significantly less than that).
Try it today and give your professional development a boost!
