The National Alert and Accountability System (NAAS)
GSA's National Alert and Accountability System (NAAS) is our communications center during any emergency and COOP drill. Passing pertinent information during a national security emergency is paramount and at the heart of preparedness.
A national security emergency is any natural disaster, military attack, technological crisis, or other emergencies that seriously degrades or threatens the United States' security. All national security emergency preparedness activities are consistent with the Constitution and laws of the United States and preserve our constitutional Government.
OCFO conducts quarterly tests of the NAAS, ensuring we can communicate all pertinent information during an emergency. These messages contain valuable information during an emergency, and your response contributes to our office's accountability percentage. If you don't reply, OCFO's percentage decreases.
You'll receive an email message in this venue with a link you can click to respond. If you miss the email message on your computer, you'll get that same email, SMS text, or phone call on your cell phone. Please remember that OCFO's averages are negatively affected if you don't respond.
Many employees wear many hats. You may be on two or more NAAS lists because of your expertise. Please respond to all messages during our drills, exercises, and tests. With these tests, you'll be familiar with receiving the messages, know how to react, and be accounted for (the most critical information during an emergency).
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact Les Painter.
Every week we will feature OCFO colleagues who have been recognized by their peers for their great work and character. This is a quick, easy, and fun way to acknowledge and thank one another.
To recognize one (or more) of your peers in the next Week in Review, use the OCFO Shout Outs Google Form.
