New: Be Sure to Code Your Timesheet Properly for the July 4th Independence Holiday

July 1st Early Dismissal
On Thursday, June 30, Administrator Carnahan authorized the Heads of Services and Staff Offices -- in cases where such action did not have a disruptive effect on work -- to grant an early dismissal on July 1, 2022. GSA employees were excused from duty up to 3 hours prior to their normal departure time. Please see details below for how to apply the correct code to your timecard.

Employees are to record the early dismissal on July 1 as administrative leave ("084 - Other Paid Absences") in HR Links.

July 4th Holiday
Monday, July 4th is a legal public holiday for pay and leave purposes for all federal employees.

Full-time and part-time employees scheduled to work on Monday, July 4, 2022, are excused from duty and are entitled to holiday pay. Employees on a standard or flexible schedule are provided with 8 hours of holiday pay. Employees on a compressed schedule are provided holiday pay for the number of hours they would have been scheduled to work on that day (i.e., 8, 9, 10, or 12 hours).

Employees who are not scheduled to work on Monday, July 4, 2022, will receive an in-lieu-of holiday. For most employees, this in-lieu-of holiday will be July 1, 2022.

To record holiday time off, use the Time Reporting Code "002-Holiday Observed.” Do not place any information into the “Additional TRC,” “Labor Code” or “Task Code” fields.

Be sure your timesheet accurately reflects your holiday time off. Please direct questions in timesheet reporting to your HR point of contact.

shout outs

Shout out to Jill Randall (BA)!

I am ensuring that OCFO is aware of our talented colleague Jill. She saw a need for a very simplistic presentation explaining our ICATS Documentation Submission Form for all users. She took the initiative to develop an incredible presentation guiding users on the various audit-type submissions. The video is less than 10 minutes, saving time from experimentation with the form or reading the guide. We will have this fantastic presentation linked to our web page, hopefully soon.

Shout out to Torado Avent (BR4B) and Charles Brown (BR4F)!

Congratulations to Zone 4’s Torado Avent, Building Operations Division, and Charles Brown, Financial Management Division, for being recognized by NCR’s Office of Acquisition at their awards event. The Office of Acquisition took the time to recognize staff outside their organization for going the extra mile, being the Best Team Player and Stand out Performer.

Shout out to Chantelle Lim (B-C) and Les Painter (BA)!

Kudos to Chantelle and Les for giving a great demo of their "ICATS Bot"! It's an excellent use of RPA to improve a tedious, manual process and they teamed up to give an awesome presentation on how they developed the automation and the impact its had. Thanks for a inspiring the 190 other feds across the government who attended!

Shout out to Mike Wano (BIC)!

Big shout out to Magic Mike Wano for going above and beyond assisting the OCFO Analytics Community of Practice Datathon team with identifying source data. Without his BI wizardry and willingness to help our the datathon core team it would have been difficult to kick off the next iteration of the datathon as scheduled. Thanks, Mike!

Shout out to Steve Mauser (BGF)!

It wasn't until Steve began training me on his monthly accrual process that I gained a greater respect and appreciation for the amount of work that he does throughout the month to ensure that accruals are captured correctly. His attention to detail and thoroughness deserve to be recognized, as he goes above and beyond so that our financial reporting is accurate. Thank you, Steve, for sharing your knowledge and always working to improve our process!

Today's customers want to know that service providers have their back, represent their best interests, and can be trusted.

Course
Personal Power and Credibility (30 minutes):
