shout outs

Shout out to Nina Wirth (BGF), Donna McGonagle (BGF), and Michelle Gatto (BGF)!

FAS Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS) Region 4 reached out to the FAS Financial Services Division (BGF) to let us know that they had a special need that would require weekend support. AAS Region 4 had a very high profile, time sensitive, White House initiative to roll out support for the new COVID home test website. Financial manager Nina Worth volunteered to assist supervisor Michelle Gatto and branch chief Donna McGonagle to be available to assist AAS in the review and acceptance of the customer's interagency agreement and to certify the funds, all so that AAS Region 4 could make the contract modification over the weekend.

While most of us were off to observe the MLK holiday weekend, AAS and BGF successfully modified the contract to add "where can I get COVID 19 test kits" information. The team did a great job of getting a very short notice requirement sorted out, a path established, and a positive outcome achieved. It was not easy, and they accomplished this much faster than anyone could have predicted.

Trainings & Resources

New Sessions Added: Overcoming Burnout and Re-Engaging Virtual Connection

Due to overwhelming interest, more sessions of the “Overcoming Burnout and Re-Engaging Virtual Connection” training have been scheduled.

This session will focus on understanding the challenges of burnout, connecting with ourselves and each other on how burnout may be affecting us, and sharing ideas and best practices for addressing these challenges as individuals, teams and as a workforce. This training will use a combination of polling, small group break-out sessions, and larger group presentation and discussion.

Register for the Thursday, March 24 session (or join the waitlist for the Wednesday, February 16 session) through GSA's Online University.

New: Continuous Leadership Journey - Etiquette and Conduct While Working From Home

Working from home can present a variety of new challenges that you may not encounter in a traditional office setting. Some of these challenges include dealing with untimely distractions from other residents in the home, dependents, or even pets; ensuring the more casual nature of a home office does not impact professionalism; and maintaining relationships despite interacting with colleagues only in a virtual environment. This month's CLJ provides resources for keeping it professional while working from home.
