Reminder: Today's the Last Day to Take the Employee Viewpoint Survey

The Employee Viewpoint Survey closes today, Friday, December 3. So far, nearly 70% of OCFO has taken the survey but if you haven't, check your email for messages from EVGS@opm.gov.

Have questions about the EVS? Email them to the GSA Engagement Team at GSAEngagement@gsa.gov.

Reminder: It's Open Season!

From now until Monday, December 13, 2021, you can make changes to your health benefits, including your health insurance, dental and vision, and your flexible spending accounts.

Remember that you have to re-enroll in flexible spending accounts each year. Your current health, dental, and vision plans will automatically roll over into the new 2022 plan year unless you change or cancel your enrollment.

Reminder: Use It or Donate It, Don't Lose It!

Did you know the leave year ends on January 1, 2022? Non-SES employees can carry up to 240 hours of annual leave into the new leave year. Any hours above that limit are considered “use or lose” leave time and will expire January 1, 2022.

Be sure to review your annual leave balances and coordinate with your supervisor when scheduling annual leave. You also have the option of donating annual leave to fellow employees in need through the Voluntary Leave Transfer Program (VLTP). The VLTP allows you to donate accrued annual leave to individuals facing personal or family medical emergencies. So if you can't use it yourself, consider donating it to someone who can.

Learn more on the pay and leave InSite page or contact your servicing HR specialist if you have any questions.

Reminder: Make Sure You Have an Active GSA Access Card

If you have been using your username and password to log into your computer because your GSA Access Card is expired, you will need to request an access card or renew your existing card by Friday, December 31, 2021.

You can send questions about GSA Access Cards to hspd12.security@gsa.gov.

New Poll: Holiday Cookies!

Did you know that cookies started out as a way to test oven temperature? According to culinary historians, cooks used dollops of cake batter to gauge whether their ovens were warm enough to bake. Thankfully, in the years since, cookies have taken on a life of their own.

For the final Week in Review poll of 2021, we want to keep it short and sweet. This week's question: What's your favorite holiday cookie? Pick from the options provided or share your own.

Respond to the poll by Thursday, December 16, to have your vote counted. Then check back that Friday for the results.

To share ideas for future polls, send us an email.

OCFO Analytics Corner

Welcome to the OCFO Analytics Corner! Each week, the Analytics Community of Practice (A-CoP) team will be sharing events, training, resources, and more. Complete this Google Form to receive more information about the A-CoP or to get involved.

Let's Get Connected!

With the help of GSA’s Office of Government-wide Policy, we might be getting closer than ever to governmentwide connectivity in 2022! Plans are in the works for governmentwide chat, calendar, and collaboration tools to allow federal employees at any agency to interact with one another more seamlessly. The days of emails to other agencies falling through the cracks, and endless games of calendar tag, may be a thing of the past and we’re excited about it!

Shout Outs

Every week we will feature OCFO colleagues who have been recognized by their peers for their great work and character. This is a quick, easy, and fun way to acknowledge and thank one another. To recognize one (or more) of your peers in the next Week in Review, use the OCFO Shout Outs Google Form.

Shout out to Josh Vogel (BIS)!

Shout out to Josh Vogel for sharing Management and Performance Challenge response tools, processes, great workarounds, and, importantly, killer roadblocks to avoid. These, used in combination with his and Ryan Donaghy's documentation and past research, made for a seamless transition to 2021's Challenges for GSA. Thank you, Josh!

Trainings & Resources

New: The Data Delivery and Management Division is Here for You!

The Data Delivery and Management Division (BIC) tends to do its best work behind the scenes; but our team stands ready to assist you with your financial data, systems, and coding needs. In addition, we can help you with OCFO content on GSA.gov or InSite.

BIC recently launched an updated version of its Service Requests Metrics Dashboard on InSite. It provides links for how to submit requests to our team and metrics on the number of requests we receive by type and organization along with the savings major development requests achieve. Finally, it highlights our top five OCFO InSite pages and overall OCFO pageviews by month.

As a reminder, listed below are the best ways to reach us with specific requests (all of this can also be found under the OCFO Reporting Solutions topic page on InSite). The online form is preferable for most business intelligence, SAM, and InSite/GSA.gov requests since it enables tracking of requests. The main exceptions are Pegasys coding/template requests and financial system changes.

  • If you have a general question or need assistance troubleshooting an issue with one of our business intelligence platforms (PBS BI or Business Objects), you can email cfo-datadeliveryandmanagement@gsa.gov.
  • If you need assistance with developing new, or enhancing existing reports within PBS BI or Business Objects, or if you need to add or revise content on GSA.gov or InSite, please submit a service request ticket using our online form. This also applies to establishing new SAM requests.
  • If you have a Pegasys coding or template issue or question, please email ssocode.request@gsa.gov.
  • For changes to financial systems or interfaces, please submit a Project 360 request.

That is about it. Also, do not forget about the OCFO Financial Training and Resource Library for updated training material and virtual courses on a range of financial topics.
