Celebrating the Fall Harvest with Agency Partners

Little wizards, firefighters, pandas, and princesses from US Kids Child Care marched through the GSA Headquarters, Administrator's suite in a Harvest Day Costume Parade.

Deputy Administrator, Katy Kale, accompanied the parade of cuties for a story reading and goodies in a conference room decorated with all of the sights, sounds, and smells of fall pumpkin and spice. Many offices sponsored tables of treats. Find more information about US Kids here.

Staff from the The Children's House at HUD and Mary Switzer at HHS dressed up and showed off their best costumes for the Harvest Day Costume Parade. Find more information about The Children's House here and for more information on Mary Switzer/HHS click here.

Students at Kinderplatz in Bloomington, MN picked pumpkins from their playground “pumpkin patch”. Classrooms hosted spooky-fun parties and goodie bags full of yummies were provided by Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of Interior Solicitor’s Office, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Labor, Coast Guard, Northrup Grumman, and Customs and Border Patrol. GSA Center News

Children from Day Early Learning at Fort Harrison showed their love for their favorite facility maintenance technician, by declaring the first annual "Mr. Jose Day". They made cards, signs and notes to thank him all he does around their center - and always with a smile.

The Kathy Herward Child Care Center (KHCCC) celebrated Week of the Young Child by giving back and supporting their community. They held an art auction to benefit a local Andover, MA program that celebrates birthdays for children in homeless shelters. Birthday cakes and gifts are delivered to children in shelters, providing the joys of a birthday celebration for children who may not otherwise have one. The students’ masterpieces raised over $1400!

GSA Child Care National Strategy for Hunger, Nutrition, and Health

Making Celebrations Healthy: The cook at Children’s Beginnings in Syracuse, NY surprised the children with healthy Halloween treats—string cheese and pretzel brooms, banana ghosts, and pumpkin oranges. Parents were provided with ideas for healthy treats at home including • Fresh fruit • yogurt parfaits •fruit pouches • fruit muffins • and more!
