From the west coast of California to the east coast of Boston, children in GSA Child Care Centers celebrated one of our most cherished events; Week of the Young Child. Parents, staff and sponsoring federal agencies joined in on the fun to support their young learners. Here are some highlights from coast to coast:
FedKids, Cleveland OH, celebrated the week with music, construction, yoga, healthy snacks, and a family potluck luncheon on Friday. The children also made a book about their families.
Stars and Stripes, Battle Creek MI, discovered their musical talents by making musical instruments on Monday, culinary skills for tasty treats on Tuesday, and created a walking bridge on Wednesday to help friends cross without falling into the water.
Advantage Learning Center, Lakewood, CO, cooked up tasty treats with the children and staff on Tasty Tuesday. Activities included reading cooking books and creating yummy fresh salads with ingredients fresh from a garden.
Green Byrne Child Care, Philadelphia, PA, celebrated the week by opening their very own center library. This was inspired by several teachers and donations from many of the agencies in the building and court house. The children send big thanks to everyone who helped make their dream become a reality.
Harborview Children's Center, Boston, MA, turned up the volume during Music Monday, which included children exploring the different sounds musical instruments make.
Rainbow Castle, St. Louis, MO, celebrated the week with a special lunch with parents, storybook and finger puppet performances. A special art project at the end of the week included edible art supplies.
