Farewell To One Of Our Own

    leo

This week we say farewell to one of our own after 15 year working in the GSA Child Care Program and over 34 years of federal service. Leo Bonner from our Washington DC office will retire May 31.  In his free time Leo plans to spend his new free time with his family, fish and volunteer with his church and Boy Scouts.

We thank Leo for his dedication and compassion to deliver quality service to children and to the GSA Child Care Center of Expertise.  We wish him all the best in retirement.

    Week of the Young Child

    Capture

From the West Coast of Sacramento to the East Coast of New York, children, parents, staff and federal agencies helped GSA Child Care Centers celebrate Week of the Young Child (WOYC) across the country.  Here are some highlights from one of our favorite weeks:

Kathy Herward Child Care Center, Andover, MA celebrated a week filled with music, science, Grandparents Day, and Lego-land!  The children enjoyed many creative learning activities exploring where they live, what they eat and how they grow!

Rainforest Kids, Hato Ray, Puerto Rico enjoyed a much needed fun-filled week after the damaging hurricanes the area recently encountered.  Families and staff  enjoyed a parachute family event, made ice cream and enjoyed a splash day to commemorate WOYC.

Cleveland Fedkids, Cleveland OH created their own art museum with child created canvas paintings.  They also treated families of the center to a potluck lunch for all to enjoy.

SSA Woodlawn, Baltimore, MD honored the children during The Week of The Young Child, with a carnival, complete with snacks, games, and more!  The children and their parents got an opportunity to play games, make slime, create fun crafts, and much more. This spectacular event was well received with lots of parent volunteers and participation.  The Parent Involvement Committee was instrumental in making this event extra special for our children.  It was a fun time was had by all!
