Fort Huachuca Sentinel Landscape Documentary Showcases the Power of Partnerships to Advance Climate Resilience and Military Readiness
The Department of Defense's (DOD) Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) Program is excited to join the Fort Huachuca Sentinel Landscape in announcing the release of the Fort Huachuca Sentinel Landscape Documentary, a film that celebrates the power of partnerships to advance climate and installation resilience. Filmed at Fort Huachuca in southeastern Arizona and produced by the University of Arizona, the documentary showcases the natural beauty of the Fort Huachuca Sentinel Landscape and the collaborative partner efforts that have made this landscape so successful.
Fort Huachuca is the prestigious home of the Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and the Electronic Proving Ground. As a Major Range Rest Facility Base, it is a hub of electromagnetic technology testing and training and has an extensive unmanned aerial vehicle training center.
Since 2015, the Fort Huachuca Sentinel Landscape has made significant strides in building resilience through collaborative and community-driven strategies to preserve and enhance the landscape's working and rural character and address issues such as water conservation, agricultural viability, wildlife habitat restoration, and the protection of military missions. The landscape spans over 2.2 million acres and has helped protect over 73,000 acres of land through Fiscal Year 2022.
Through the Department’s involvement in the Sentinel Landscapes Partnership, the REPI Program can meet mission requirements, forge new local partnerships, and advance project activities using fewer DOD resources.
As we celebrate the significant achievements at the Fort Huachuca Sentinel Landscape, we hope you'll join us in recognizing the stakeholders, partners, and community members who have worked continuously to protect our natural resources, strengthen our national defense, and support our local economies.
