Preschoolers in Maryland are learning the alphabet by exploring and tasting healthy foods.

SNAP-Ed in Maryland knows that the preschool years are an important time when young children are learning to develop healthy habits. They have partnered with hundreds of early learning centers across the state to share a tasty new way to learn the alphabet… with Edible ABCs! This program uses a train-the-trainer approach to bring face-to-face education and multi-level interventions aimed at promoting healthy foods and physical activity for the littlest learners.

Edible ABCs reaches children as well as teachers, and families to create healthy changes. Maryland SNAP-Ed staff made changes during COVID-19 by adapting some of its programming to virtual learning.  Read more about this and other innovative SNAP-Ed programs at the SNAP-Ed Connection Success Stories page!
