NSCR Tabletop Exercise After Action Report
On behalf of NITRD, the IDA Science and Technology Policy Institute (STPI) ran a National Strategic Computing Reserve (NSCR) tabletop exercise in Summer 2024 that engaged representatives from across the government.
The NSCR Tabletop Exercise After Action Report has 3 key findings:
- The NSCR can work across crises of different scales and functions.
- The NSCR should serve as a repository and coordinating entity.
- The lack of proper authorities is a major obstacle for the NSCR in times of crises.
The NSCR Tabletop Exercise After Action Report suggests the following next steps:
- Hold regular tactical tabletop exercises to create the NSCR repository, engage diverse stakeholders, and exercise the system.
- Bring additional partners into the discussion about the NSCR.
