Law Clerk Applications Successfully Released
On June 13, 2022, the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AO) released finalized law clerk applications from the class of 2023 to judges in accordance with the Federal Law Clerk Hiring Plan. Any future clerkship applications created by members of the class of 2023 will be released to judges immediately when finalized.
Note: Staff attorney applications are not affected by the Federal Law Clerk Hiring Plan and are always released to staff attorney offices when finalized.
Remember! Applications must be finalized for judges and staff attorney offices to view them. Review this short video to learn more about finalizing applications.

Hired? Mark Yourself "Unavailable" or Withdraw Your Applications
If you are hired, it’s important to mark yourself as "Unavailable," which automatically withdraws all of your outstanding applications in OSCAR, or individually withdraw your active applications.
Now that OSCAR allows applicants to upload transcripts as PDF files, we’ve received a number of questions about the process. Some of the most frequently asked questions about uploading transcripts are answered below: |
Is It OK to Use Encrypted Transcripts in My OSCAR Applications?
Encrypted PDFs including transcripts cannot be uploaded to OSCAR. Encrypted documents that are included in your application packet can corrupt application packets and cause them to display incorrectly, making the packet unviewable by judges and staff attorney offices. Note: It is standard practice for judges and staff attorney offices to accept unofficial transcripts with OSCAR applications. If the chambers or office need an encrypted transcript, they will request it by email or another channel outside of OSCAR.
How Do I Get a Copy of My Unencrypted Transcript to Submit with My Applications?
The OSCAR Program Office is unable to obtain copies of transcripts. If you need assistance with obtaining an unencrypted version of your transcript, consult your law school career services office.
What If I Already Used an Encrypted Transcript in OSCAR?
You should replace the encrypted transcript on each application where it was used. For law school transcripts, you can do this with the Batch Options menu on your My Applications tab. See this help article for instructions.
