Paul G. Levenson Selected to be a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the District of Massachusetts
The Judges of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts have selected Paul G. Levenson to be a magistrate judge, subject to the required background investigation. When appointed, Mr. Levenson will sit in Boston.
Mr. Levenson began his legal career as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Stanley J. Weigel in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Following his clerkship, he worked in private practice as an Associate at Kaye Scholer Fierman Hays & Handler LLP and then Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. In 1989, he joined the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, he worked in the Civil and then Criminal divisions, the last six years of service as the Chief of the Economic Crimes Unit. In 2013, he joined the Securities and Exchange Commission as Regional Director, supervising a staff of 170 professionals in six New England states.
Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV said of the selection: “Paul Levenson has extensive experience and a strong reputation for being a thoughtful, intelligent, and fair lawyer. We are delighted to welcome him as a new colleague on our court.”
Mr. Levenson received a BA in Social Studies from Harvard College. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
