VAEB - Announcements: Virginia Eastern Bankruptcy Court’s Impending Implementation of New Bankruptcy Next Generation CM/ECF on March 21, 2022: Very Important Information
U.S. Courts sent this bulletin at 11/02/2021 03:00 PM EDTComing VAEB NextGen Implementation on March 21, 2022, and a Message for Attorneys Making use of the Court’s Current CM/ECF Training Database
On March 21, 2022, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia will migrate its Case Management/Electronic Case Files System (CM/ECF) to the Next Generation of Bankruptcy CM/ECF (NextGen). Please click on the Court’s internet website’s Bankruptcy NextGen CM/ECF web page to access this very important information. Timely following the instructions set forth on that web page will enable you to continue e-filing in ECF with the Court on and after March 21, 2022. This migration will provide you with the benefit of new Central Sign-on functionality and the ability to maintain one account across all NextGen courts (appellate, district, and bankruptcy). You only would need to sign in once, using your one login name and password, to access any NextGen court in which you have e-filing permission. As a user, you must have an individual PACER Account, which will be your entry login point for both PACER and CM/ECF. Courts continue to be responsible for admitting attorneys and assigning e-filing permissions, and each court will continue to identify each user's appropriate access level.
As part of the NextGen CM/ECF migration process, it will be necessary to bring the Court’s Training Database only offline, beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, November 3, 2021, until next Monday, November 8, 2021, so the Court can perform a needed upgrade to NextGen CM/ECF for this specific database. Attorneys needing to start or complete their training in the system will have to register for a PACER account for NextGen CM/ECF, as described on the Court’s webpage, after November 8th.
Additional information will follow. Please periodically check the Court’s internet website’s Bankruptcy NextGen CM/ECF web page.
