This release contains the following new functionality:
-
Universal search functionality, allowing users to search for unclaimed funds owed to a specific individual, business, and/or governmental unit from one of the following:
- A specific court;
- Multiple courts; and
- Across all participating bankruptcy courts within the entire Judiciary.
- Improved search functionality, allowing users to initiate a search based on the entry of a name into the creditor name and/or debtor name fields.
- Code modifications to only allow numeric values in the Amount field.
The U.S. Bankruptcy UCFL consists of a public search web interface that allows public users to obtain information about unclaimed funds held by the bankruptcy courts. It is intended to facilitate drawing down the balance in U.S. Treasury forfeiture funds, which are mostly of unclaimed bankruptcy funds.
A nightly process updates the website with unclaimed funds data for bankruptcy courts using the system. Currently, 66 of 87 eligible bankruptcy courts are using the application to publicize public-facing unclaimed funds data located on their respective internet websites.
The Rhode Island Bankruptcy Court participates in the UCFL service and it can be accessed directly from our website at this location. Users may choose to search our local database or the national UCFL from one from these links:
