TOPIC: Business Pill and Branch Manager for Men by SUPPLX.com: Recall - Due to Undeclared Yohimbine
AUDIENCE: Consumer, Patient, Health Care Professional, Pharmacy, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Psychiatry
ISSUE: SUPPLX.com is recalling Business Pill and Branch Manager for Men, because FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that both products contain yohimbine that is not declared on the product labels.
Yohimbine is a plant-derived alkaloid formulated for use as a prescription medication, generally as a treatment for erectile dysfunction. It has also been studied for use to promote blood flow and support athletic performance. FDA found dangerously high levels of yohimbine in the recalled products. Yohimbine can cause severe hypertension, tachycardia, and possibly cardiac arrhythmia and myocardial infarction (heart attacks), especially if the consumer is taking other stimulants such as caffeine or ephedra-containing products or prescription drugs used to treat ADHD. Severe gastrointestinal distress, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain are typical side effects of high doses. It can also cause acute neurologic and psychiatric effects, including anxiety, insomnia, mania, psychosis in schizophrenic patients, drowsiness, disorientation, tremors and seizures.
The recall covers all lots and expiration or best-by dates distributed from September 16, 2023, through June 11, 2026. No other SUPPLX.com products are included in this recall.
As of today, death has been reported in cases of severe overdose.
