ISSUE: As of August 21, 2024, test results are available for 22 Diamond Shruumz-brand Chocolate Bars and have been summarized in the Sample Results section included in the alert. Additional analysis for the Diamond Shruumz-brand Chocolate Bars is ongoing. Samples of the Diamond Shruumz-brand Cones and Gummies have also been collected and testing and analysis is ongoing.
On August 20, 2024, FDA published an updated list of store names and locations known to sell Diamond Shruumz-brand products. All Diamond Shruumz-brand products have been recalled and should not be available for sale. If you know of a retailer (online or in-person) continuing to sell recalled Diamond Shruumz-brand product, you can report this information to FDA.
As of August 16, 2024, a total of 145 illnesses have been reported from 29 states; 59 have been hospitalized, and there are two potentially associated deaths.

BACKGROUND: Diamond Shruumz-brand products have been recalled and should no longer be available for sale. These products were available online and in person at a variety of retail locations nationwide including smoke/vape shops, and at retailers that sell hemp-derived products such as cannabidiol (CBD) or delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-8 THC).
People who became ill after eating Diamond Shruumz-brand products reported a variety of severe symptoms including seizures, central nervous system depression (loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness), agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper/hypotension, nausea, and vomiting.
RECOMMENDATIONS:

Consumers should not buy or eat any flavor of Diamond Shruumz-brand Chocolate Bars, Cones, or Gummies.

Consumers should check their homes and discard these products or return them to the company for a refund.

These products may appeal to children and teenagers. Parents and caregivers should consider discussing the information in this advisory with their children and take extra care to avoid these products being consumed by younger people.

Retailers should not sell or distribute any flavor of Diamond Shruumz-brand Chocolate Bars, Cones, or Gummies, and should hold the product in a secure location and contact the recalling company to initiate the return and refund.
