To date, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized 27 at-home, over-the-counter (OTC) COVID-19 tests. With these tests, you can conveniently collect your own sample, perform the test, and read the result yourself.
Many of these at-home OTC COVID-19 tests have expiration dates that have been extended. Be sure to check if your test has a new expiration date before throwing it away. Refer to the expiration date column at the web page below to see if your test(s) has an extended expiration date.
Remember, these tests should always be repeated if a negative result is received – test at least 2 times over 3 days with at least 48 hours between tests if the person has symptoms, or at least 3 times over 5 days with at least 48 hours between tests if the person does not have symptoms.
