EPA Extends the Comment Period through March 26 for the Proposal to Clarify Authority to Address Releases of Hazardous Waste
On February 8, EPA proposed changes that would amend the definition of hazardous waste as it applies to corrective action to address releases from solid waste management units at permitted hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities. EPA received requests to extend the comment period. So, EPA is extending it for an additional 15 days and now welcomes comment on this proposal through March 26, 2024.

EPA Requests Potential Charge Questions by March 22 for the Hazardous Waste Electronic Manifest Advisory Board
On February 21, 2024, EPA invited the public to provide input for potential charge questions that the Agency could consider when consulting the Hazardous Waste Electronic Manifest System Advisory Board. Relevant topics could include operational activities, functions, policies, and regulations of EPA under the e-Manifest Act. Interested parties should submit their comments on or before March 22, 2024.
EPA established the Advisory Board pursuant to the Hazardous Waste Electronic Manifest Establishment Act and in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The purpose of the Advisory Board is to provide recommendations to the EPA Administrator on matters related to the e-Manifest program activities, functions, policies, and regulations of the EPA under the e-Manifest Act. EPA consults the Advisory Board at least annually.
