EPA’s Office of Indoor Environments is hosting this webinar in coordination with EPA’s Office of Children’s Health Protection. This webinar will examine the impact of extreme heat on indoor air quality and children’s environmental health. The goal of this webinar is to give attendees a firm understanding of the level of danger that is present during extreme heat events, as well as tips, strategies, and best practices to help communities adapt.

Speakers
Grace Robiou Grace Robiou, Director of EPA’s Office of Children’s Health Protection, will introduce the topic of extreme heat and provide a high-level overview of the ways that extreme heat impacts indoor air quality and children’s health.
Ylenia Aguilar, the Southwest Field Organizer for Moms Clean Air Force, will discuss her lived experience in Arizona and highlight ways that extreme heat has impacted people on the ground in one of the hottest regions of the United States.
Professor Carmen Velez Vega, from the University of Puerto Rico, will use Hurricane Maria and its aftermath as a case study to highlight ways that natural disasters can have profound consequences in indoor air quality and children’s health broadly.
