This month, EPA is sharing resources and advice on how to protect children from environmental threats where they live, learn and play.

Protect Children Where They Live!

• Check your home for pollutants:
  • Lead
  • Asthma Triggers
  • Radon
  • Mold
  • Second-Hand Smoke and Electronic-Cigarette Aerosols
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

• Properly filter air and ventilate your home with clean air.
• Try using Safer Choice cleaning products where each ingredient is reviewed for human health and environmental safety. Look for the label:

• When using chemicals and pesticides at home be cautious, always read the labeled directions, keep products out of kid’s reach, and never allow children to use the products themselves, even disinfecting wipes.
• Prepare now for the unexpected! Learn best practices for protecting children during an environmental emergency like a smoke event or heat wave.
