Lew Harriman, Director of Research at Mason-Grant Consulting in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Lew has 38 years of experience researching and solving problems related to humidity and moisture in buildings and industrial processes. Known to his package delivery service as “Dr. Damp,” Lew is a Fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and was lead author and project manager for ASHRAE’s Humidity Control Design Guide and the 2016 ASHRAE Position Document on Limiting Indoor Dampness and Mold.

In 2013, EPA published the landmark book Moisture Control Guidance for Building Design, Construction and Maintenance. That publication has since become a standard reference for building planners, architects, engineers and building service professionals. During this 90-minute webinar, two of the many contributors to this publication will review and discuss six key points made in the book, showing examples that illustrate the benefits of the EPA guidance, as well as some of the consequences in buildings built in earlier times before they could

benefit from that advice. These six points are simple to keep in mind, and the logic for each is backed by real-world experience and industry consensus on best practices for the planning, design and operation of buildings.
