EPA Proposes Expedited Approval of Two Top New Hampshire Asks
On Thursday, EPA signed off on expedited proposals to approve two New Hampshire requests: 1) To remove the state’s Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance program from its State Implementation Plan, and 2) To grant the state’s petition to withdraw from the Ozone Transport Region. We are advancing cooperative federalism and delivering on this important ask from New Hampshire’s residents and leaders.

EPA Completes Major Milestone in Expedited Fluoride Review
To help local leaders and communities make informed decisions about fluoridating drinking water, EPA released its “Protocol for Developing the Fluoride Human Health Toxicity Assessment”, a key step in our expedited scientific review of fluoride’s public health impacts in drinking water. This new action, working alongside U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kennedy, directly responds to public input gathered from our original Preliminary Assessment Plan.
This new Protocol outlines a scientific road map to transparently describe how EPA is conducting the assessment and applying gold standard science. EPA will use this Protocol as a foundation for a draft fluoride human health toxicity assessment to be made available for public comment, ensuring we complete this crucial review YEARS ahead of the traditional schedule.
