EPA Completes Federal Response to Potomac Interceptor Months Ahead of Schedule
The federal response to the Potomac Interceptor collapse is now COMPLETE, months ahead of America 250 festivities starting in DC! The Trump Administration has demobilized the federal presence onsite and has achieved ALL our recovery goals. DC Water is expected to complete its soil remediation work by the end of this month.
Following the collapse of the Potomac Interceptor, which resulted in at least 240 million gallons of raw, untreated sewage discharging into the Potomac River, President Trump received a request from DC Mayor Muriel Bowser for federal assistance. The White House immediately assigned EPA as the lead federal response agency thereafter, where we worked alongside partners on all levels to coordinate and execute our repair and remediation process. On Wednesday---months ahead of schedule---we were proud to announce the completion of our federal remediation.

Reshoring the Critical Mineral Supply Chain
A MASSIVE new lithium deposit was just discovered in Appalachia that ramps up our domestic supply chain for this critical mineral. This is a big win for America’s economy and national security. On Sunday, Administrator Zeldin joined Batya Unga-Sargon on NewsNation to discuss these developments. Watch the full interview here.
Restoring Consumer Choice for American Drivers
EPA and the Trump Administration have very intentionally ENDED electric vehicle mandates because we strongly believe in consumer choice and that manufacturers should be building what consumers want to buy rather than what politicians and bureaucrats want to demand.
On Tuesday, Administrator Zeldin spoke to members of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) where he highlighted EPA’s efforts to revitalize America’s auto manufacturing industry and empower consumer choice for American drivers.
