Over 2,000 Permits Have Been Approved for LA Wildfire Victims Since President Trump’s January Executive Order
Since President Trump’s January Executive Order, over 2,000 new permits have been approved for LA wildfire victims desperately trying to rebuild their homes. From his leadership to get insurance companies to do more and faster, to pressing for more forest management, water flow, and more, the federal government’s focus on this tragedy has been critical.
This builds upon President Trump’s directives from the beginning of his term to get EPA to clear hazardous materials from 13,000 properties in 30 days so Army Corps could complete debris removal in 100 days. U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Kelly Loeffler also stepped up to deliver $3.2 billion in disaster loans to LA residents, which was over 50% of SBA’s disaster loans last year. EPA Proposes Repeal of 2024 Nonattainment Decision for Utah’s Northern Wasatch Front
When Administrator Zeldin traveled to Utah last year, one of the top issues raised to him was concerns over being penalized for nonattainment due to foreign sources of emissions. In response, Administrator Zeldin instantly repealed EPA’s prior Clean Air Act Section 179B Guidance regarding international emissions.
On Tuesday, EPA took further action, proposing to repeal the 2024 Nonattainment decision for Utah’s Northern Wasatch Front. Federal ozone air quality standards would have been met had it not been for emissions transported into the region from outside the U.S. EPA remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring clean air for every American, leaning into cooperative federalism to partner with state and local leaders.

Administrator Zeldin Reaffirms Support for Advanced Recycling in New Op-Ed
Advanced recycling offers a solution to plastic waste that conventional recycling never could: a way to truly undo plastic, breaking it apart piece by piece until nothing remains but the raw materials it was originally made from. At the Trump EPA, we are doing our part to cut unnecessary red tape and deliver the clarity this industry needs to expand and thrive. Read here the Administrator’s latest op-ed in The Hill outlining the abundant opportunity we have to become the global leader in advanced recycling.
