Administrator Zeldin Meets with USAA Leadership in San Antonio, Texas, to Discuss Los Angeles Wildfire Response and Rebuild
On Friday, Administrator Zeldin had a great meeting with United Services Automobile Association (USAA) leadership at their headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, focused on the Los Angeles Wildfire response and rebuild. Administrator Zeldin has heard a lot of great feedback on the ground in LA from wildfire victims who promptly received the support they needed from USAA. He's also heard that many others are still struggling mightily to recover what they are owed, naming some other companies/entities. It’s imperative that all victims be promptly made whole on their policies and allowed to rebuild their home, family, and lives.
Fixing Gas Cans
What started as an effort many years ago to child-proof gas cans turned into an adult-proofing model for millions of Americans who feel that these cans are virtually impossible to use.
The first step (BETTER VENTING): EPA clarified to manufacturers last summer that gas cans can have self-closing vents that restore smoother fuel flow.
The next, bigger step (NOZZLE DESIGN): To have the Consumer Product Safety Commission fix the ABSURDLY designed nozzle, Congress will need to pass legislation to change federal law.
It shouldn’t take 3 hands and 5 minutes to pour gas out of a gas can!
American Drivers Rejoice after EPA Eliminates Incentive for Feature that Made Cars Have Built-In Panic Attacks
The start/stop concept in vehicles is almost universally DESPISED. So, EPA has now REMOVED the off-cycle credits created to get this feature installed. The incentives for manufacturers to make your car die at every red light and stop sign have now been ELIMINATED!
In February, EPA eliminated the off-cycle credit that was used to implement the almost universally hated start-stop feature in American vehicles--- a direct result of Administrator Zeldin signing the final rule eliminating both the 2009 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Endangerment Finding and all subsequent federal GHG emission standards for all vehicles and engines from model years 2012 to 2027 and beyond.
