Administrator Zeldin Visits Potomac Interceptor Site
Following Administrator Zeldin’s visit on Wednesday to the site of the Potomac Interceptor collapse, he was extremely pleased with the unified response, including federal partners at EPA, FEMA, Army Corps, and National Park Service, to exceptionally assist DC Water with this urgent rebuild and environmental remediation. From the moment the formal request for federal assistance was made by DC Mayor Bowser last week, President Trump instantly deployed the administration to do everything in our power to help resolve this crisis. Last Friday, the White House assigned EPA as the lead federal agency in response to the Potomac Interceptor collapse that resulted in at least 240 million gallons of raw, untreated sewage discharging into the Potomac River. EPA has implemented the President’s direction to provide all necessary management and coordination among federal agencies to protect the Potomac River and the region’s water supply from the infrastructure failure spill in the State of Maryland. Administrator Zeldin has designated Assistant Administrator for Water Jessica Kramer as Senior Response Officer overseeing the effort. Read more about EPA's response efforts.
President Trump Delivers State of the Union Address
On Tuesday, President Trump delivered his State of the Union Address. The American people gave President Trump a mandate, and he is delivering to make our country safer, stronger, and more prosperous than ever. From delivering the largest tax cut in history for working and middle-income Americans, to ending taxes on tips and overtime, and eliminating tax on car loan interest for American-made cars, the President is working hard to put America first. See the Administrator’s full statement.

Jess Kramer has been on site multiple times this week alongside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and others.
