Administrator Zeldin at Munich Security Conference Discussing U.S. Environment and Energy Policies
Earlier this week, Administrator Zeldin attended the Munich Security Conference following last week's repeal of the 2009 Obama Endangerment Finding. Administrator Zeldin sat down with Politico to discuss EPA's decision to strictly follow recent Supreme Court decisions and the best reading of the Clean Air Act. Administrator Zeldin explained that if Congress wants EPA to impose massive regulations on Greenhouse Gas emissions, then they must amend Section 202 of the Clean Air Act. Repeal of the 2024 MATS Rule, Ending Assault on Affordable and Reliable Baseload Power, and Restoring U.S. Energy Dominance
Coal is a necessary and vital resource for the United States' energy supply, and President Trump has ENDED the assault of the previous administrations on this affordable and reliable baseload power. The recent cold weather in many parts of the U.S. was an important reminder that instead of regulating coal out of existence, we should be ensuring that coal remains available to keep Americans warm. On Friday, EPA announced we are repealing the Biden Administration's 2024 amendments to the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) for power plants, while maintaining the strict 2012 standards, an action that will restore American energy dominance and make life affordable for Americans.
