The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) released a new study showing significant potential for expanding renewable energy production on federal lands. Researchers found that federal lands in the contiguous U.S. could accommodate 51 to 84 gigawatts of renewable energy production by 2035. Deployment on this scale would account for up to 10% of the renewable energy required to achieve net-zero emissions in the electricity sector. Read the study to learn more.
