📢 New DOE Fellowship Opportunity: Apply for the Equitable Community Solar and Energy Assistance Fellowship!

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) announced today that applications for the 2025 cohort of the Equitable Community Solar and Energy Assistance Fellowship are now open. This two-year fellowship offers energy professionals a unique opportunity to collaborate with regional organizations in Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, and New Mexico to scale the Clean Energy Connector, and connect Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)-eligible households with accessible, affordable community solar subscriptions. Fellows will receive a stipend, health benefits, and an educational allowance.

DOE also announced the Clean Energy Connector pilot expansion to include three new states: Massachusetts, Maryland, and Rhode Island. Local LIHEAP program administrators in these states, as well as Washington, D.C., New Mexico, and Illinois, can now leverage the Connector to assist low-income households with home energy costs. Interested community solar subscription managers and local LIHEAP agencies in these states should contact their state community solar program and state LIHEAP agencies to learn more about joining the pilot.
