Hello to all of our stakeholders, partners, and employees as well. This year has been exciting on many fronts, and we are amped to make a few announcements in the remaining weeks that tie closely to our mission.
As you all know by now, we are here to make it easy for anyone to choose zero-emission mobility and to work with industry to drive innovation forward. We are also here to support states, communities, and industry to build out the convenient, reliable charging network that makes electric and zero-emission mobility choices a top option in the marketplace.
Created by Congress, our office works with everyone, across the board, to ensure that our national charging network and the good-paying jobs it entails provide benefits to every community—rural, suburban, or urban.

Governor Dan McKee, the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation have announced the commencement of Phase 2 of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. This phase, focused on a community-based approach, offers an initial $10 million in competitive funding for EV charging infrastructure. The program is open to public, nonprofit, and private entities, with all installations required to be publicly accessible.

Nov. 19–21: CharIN Testival North America 2024, San Bernardino, CA Members of the Joint Office standards and reliability team will attend this event to demonstrate open-source EV charging software capabilities and discuss the latest developments in e-mobility and interoperability.
Nov. 22: Electric Vehicle Working Group Meeting, Virtual The November meeting includes a report out and discussion led by each of the three subcommittees: medium-/heavy-duty adoption, grid integration, and charging network. Members will deliberate and vote on recommendations made by each subcommittee.
Dec. 4: Deploy24, Washington, D.C.
The investment in a national charging network from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has moved into implementation—and driven innovation across the public and private sectors. From truck stop operators and power companies to communities and state departments of transportation, there are new business models, unexpected partnerships, and technical advancements that are creating a more engaging and seamless electric charging experience.
Joint Office Executive Director Gabe Klein will introduce a panel of change-makers that are taking these charging innovations from vision to implementation.
