The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) issued an RFI to better understand the opportunities and challenges associated with photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) systems. PVT systems combine standard photovoltaic panels with waste heat recovery systems and can be coupled with thermal energy storage. The RFI aims to gain a better understanding of the technology and market potential in the United States. Â
SETO seeks feedback from industry, academia, research laboratories, state and local government agencies, and other stakeholders on four topic areas:   Â
-
Topic Area 1: Business: Opportunities and limitations for PVT systems in the U.S. market. Â
-
Topic Area 2: Technology: Research, development, or demonstration activities that could improve performance or reduce costs.  Â
-
Topic Area 3: Regulatory: Siting and permitting requirements for PVT system installation. Â
-
Topic Area 4: Consumer: Interest in installing a PVT system.  Â
