Joint Office Headlines
The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation worked with SAE to develop the J3400 EV Coupler Recommended Practice—the next step toward an open standard for EV charging hardware. The Recommended Practice provides the framework so that any supplier or manufacturer can use and deploy the J3400 standard.

Other News
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) announced newly designated Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs) in six states and Puerto Rico. The new AFCs will provide additional connections to highways designated in the previous seven rounds and improve coverage of alternative fuels nationwide.
FHWA, with Volpe National Transportation Systems Center and the Joint Office, reviewed and evaluated the nominations based on the information specified in the Round 8 (2024) Request for Nominations.
Technical Assistance
Utilities and grid operators can apply for a free technical assistance program that will provide technical solutions for accelerating clean energy deployment across American communities. The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and Grid Deployment Office are offering this new program through several national laboratories.
