DOE and the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation have launched the Innovative Queue Management Solutions (iQMS) for Clean Energy Interconnection and Energization program. The iQMS program will award over $11 million to distribution utilities to pilot solutions for managing the queue of renewable energy and electric vehicle charging interconnection and energization project applications. DOE recently recognized Better Climate Challenge and Better Plants Challenge partner, General Motors (GM), for showing leadership in decarbonization, energy efficiency, and waste reduction! GM’s Fort Wayne Assembly plant reduced its carbon emissions by 30% using a steam elimination and recovery system, and GM is now evaluating other sites to replicate this solution. BETO and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory announced the 2024 community partners for their Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Technical Assistance for State, Local, and Tribal Governments Program! The program will provide technical assistance for 20 communities in 14 states, in collaboration with state, local, and Tribal governments. Learn more about the WTE Technical Assistance Program’s technical expertise on energy and resource recovery from organic waste streams, as well as plastics, paper, cardboard, and wood waste, and don’t forget to read the FAQs page for more information.
