The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE)Â Science, Technology and Policy (STP) Program provides opportunities for advanced degree graduates, postgraduates, established scientists, and faculty with a range of experience levels to apply their expertise to current and future policy and technical initiatives in energy efficiency and renewable energy.Â
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO) is seeking talented and passionate individuals to join our team as ORISE Fellows in the following areas:

DEIA and Sustainable Development: Collaborate on the social science behind technical, programmatic, strategic, and policy efforts that will meet office energy, equity, and environmental justice and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) goals and drive innovation in U.S. manufacturing.

Education and Workforce Development – Social Science: Engage with stakeholders on the education and workforce development needed to meet our related strategic goals: (1) inspire the current and future workforce to pursue and grow careers in advanced manufacturing; (2) prepare and equip the manufacturing and research and development workforce with the skills and support needed to deploy advanced technologies; and (3) grow the nation’s workforce and support workers as they navigate their careers and acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Energy Storage and Battery Manufacturing: Support AMMTO’s energy storage and battery manufacturing research portfolio, which spans expanding domestic manufacturing of batteries, development of advanced materials for energy storage applications, and development of next generation battery cell designs.Â
