The American-Made Solar Prize is back for Round 8. A $4 million prize pool is up for grabs for entrepreneurial teams who have creative solutions to make solar energy more affordable, accessible, and efficient. Teams can compete in the optional Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Contest along the way. The Power Up Contest is back this year to award teams who don’t advance as semifinalists, but show promise and warrant further development. Register for an informational webinar on July 9 to learn more and apply by September 26.
Don't forget to participate in these funding opportunities, prizes, and solicitations:
Soft costs research at SETO addresses challenges associated with reducing non-hardware cost components of solar energy systems. Hear from SETO’s experts to learn how their work is supporting an equitable transition to a decarbonized economy.
SETO funded the development of the Annotated Translated Disassembled Code (@DisCo) software, a first-of-its-kind software tool to identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the firmware of devices like solar inverters or controllers. The @DisCo software, which is free to download and use, allows utilities and component manufacturers to automatically detect changes in firmware and find unwanted threats, helping protect the grid from cybersecurity attacks. Learn more about this project, which won a 2023 R&D 100 Award for its innovation and functionality.
